(More customer reviews)I purchased this at the beginning of the summer for my sunny patio. It is the perfect solution (as opposed to attaching an awning to my house). Provides shade for a small bistro set and prevents sun from blinding us inside the house. We use the patio more than ever. Regular umbrellas do not shade a 6' sliding door as well. I have it in white, which shows dirt quickly. Am ordering a blue one which should not look as grimy. You do need the base for this umbrella.
