(More customer reviews)If you are considering using this item to install a new stereo on a 2000 Honda Civic, consider the following.
Advantages of using this kit:
1. Very easy installation.
2. Removing the stereo later is easy.
Disadvantages of using this kit.
1. The pocket below the stereo that you need to use with this kit is quite a bit smaller then the stock one. It's useless.
2. Easy removal of the stereo means it can be stolen easily. If you intall it the way the original stereo was, it would take at least 20 minutes for an experienced thief to remove it without damaging the stereo.
3. The installation with this kit is kinda rinky dink.
You can install the new stereo the same way as the old one without this kit. The only problem is that the original plastic pocket is mounted to the bottom of the original stereo and your new one will not have the slots needed to attach it. However, all you need to do is drill a hole that lines up with the pocket mounting screws in each of the two metal brackets that hold the stereo and then mount the plastic pocket to the brackets using slightly longer screws. I did this, and it resulted in a totally clean and solid installation. If you can use a drill, you may want to pass on buying this kit.
