I bought the Infinity Reference 6820cs as a drop-in replacement for my 1999 F150 stock front speakers, I used the Infinity Reference 6822cf for the rears (about half the price of the 6820cs). I couldn't afford to change the stock head yet (multi-media premium sound), but I wanted to start somewhere. In this version F150 (1997- 2003) the tweeter fits perfect in that triangle of plastic opposite where the out-side mirror mounts. Don't forget to use the foam sealing tape that comes with the package or the bass will be weak. (I made this error, the foam seal is critical for good bass response) The Infinity's were a dramatic improvement in every way. Most critical improvement was the high-end. You hear everything that is on the recording like you were in your living room without being overly bright or harsh. The mid range is clean and forward, vocals come through with penetrating clarity. The bass is tight without boomeyness or doubling. You won't get the extreme lows, that's what they invented subwoofers for. You can turn the volume up to it's absolute limit without distortion. The Infinity Reference 6820cs was more than I expected or hoped for, you can't go wrong. The only drawback is I can tell how lame the stock head really is.
